Job Description:
For our headquarter in Kleve we're searching for an Application Specialist (m/f/d).
Your main tasks:
- Developing and creating (master) calibrations, methods, and applications for products of the A/S-/LIBS-OES product lines (MMA & SMA) as well as, if applicable, for product-specific accessories, including maintenance of corresponding databases/data collections
- Finding, exploring, and verifying/validating new applications of OES products (MMA & SMA) or for product-specific accessories, with a market-oriented approach
- Implementing new findings into product development, as well as planning, conducting, evaluating, and documenting test series to determine and improve the performance of OES products (MMA & SMA), particularly with regard to (possibly new or changed) market requirements
- Collaborating in advising and supporting internal and external customers in technical as well as application-related questions regarding product-/application-related training for OES products (MMA & SMA), or for product-specific accessories
- Assistance in conducting employee and user training in-house and, if necessary, on-site, in German and English
- Assistance in the preparation and presentation of lectures in German and English at scientific congresses, conferences, and sales events both domestically and abroad
- Assistance in the training and supervision of physics and chemistry laboratory technicians
- Participation in the TQM process.
Your profile:
- M.Sc./M.Eng., Dipl.-Chem., Dipl.-Ing., Dipl.-Ing (FH) specializing in Analytical Chemistry, specializing in inorganic analytics, especially atomic spectrometry, or Physics/Mechanical Engineering/Materials Science, specializing in metallurgy, or materials science of metallic materials, good knowledge in LIBS, ICP-OES or spark-/arc-emission spectrometric measurement methods
- >5 years of specialized professional experience advantageous
- Knowledge in the calibration of and (routine) measurement with optical emission spectrometers
- Knowledge/experience in sample/standard preparation of metallic samples, as well as laboratory safety, special waste disposa
- Knowledge of relevant standards, especially accreditation (ISO 17025, ISO 17034, DAkkS regulations, …) as well as statistical fundamentals and their application to measurement uncertainty issues (GUM, …)
- Knowledge in the regulatory field (Material Compliance, ChemVerbotsV) advantageous
- Foreign language skills, at least a very good command of the German and English languages in writing and speaking, as well as of subject-specific written communication (e.g., technical articles, standards, etc.)
- Good knowledge of standard PC software (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
