Job Title: Engineering Technician

The Engineering Technician builds, maintains, tests, and repairs electrical / electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. They will apply knowledge of electrical / electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and apply skills for restoring equipment to operation. Also, they will provide skilled mechanical and electrical / electronic support to all areas of the Engineering function.
What you will do:
- Assembly, construct, and test prototypes from specifications using a variety of machines and tools
- Maintain strong standards of quality products, output, and overall work performed
- Support design and fabrication of test fixtures
- Maintain and report out on project status
- Recommend solutions
- Maintain work area in a clean, organized, and safe manner
We are looking for:
- Associate's degree or technical certification required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years relevant experience and good understanding of machining practices
- Demonstrated experience operating a variety of hand and power tools, soldering, and fault-testing equipment
- Attention to quality and safety
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift 30+ lbs. occasionally, 20-30 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. constantly
- Ability to manipulate precision hand tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills required
Additional characteristics:
- While performing the duties of this job, this role is frequently required to stand, sit, use hands, reach, talk and hear.
- This role requires the ability to lift 20-50 lbs occassionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, this role is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborn particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
- Noise level is occasionally loud.
- This position may be exposed to various industrial cleaning chemicals and oils.
