Job Description: 

The Engineering Technician builds, maintains, tests, and repairs electrical / electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. They will apply knowledge of electrical / electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and apply skills for restoring equipment to operation. Also, they will provide skilled mechanical and electrical / electronic support to all areas of the Engineering function.

 

What you will do:

  • Assembly, construct, and test prototypes from specifications using a variety of machines and tools
  • Maintain strong standards of quality products, output, and overall work performed
  • Support design and fabrication of test fixtures
  • Maintain and report out on project status
  • Recommend solutions
  • Maintain work area in a clean, organized, and safe manner

 

We are looking for:

  • Associate's degree or technical certification required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years relevant experience and good understanding of machining practices
  • Demonstrated experience operating a variety of hand and power tools, soldering, and fault-testing equipment
  • Attention to quality and safety
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs. occasionally, 20-30 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. constantly
  • Ability to manipulate precision hand tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills required

 

Additional characteristics:

  • While performing the duties of this job, this role is frequently required to stand, sit, use hands, reach, talk and hear.
  • This role requires the ability to lift 20-50 lbs occassionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, this role is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborn particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
  • Noise level is occasionally loud.
  • This position may be exposed to various industrial cleaning chemicals and oils.

Salary Minimum:  $40,000
Salary Maximum:  $70,000
