What you will do:
- Design and maintain firmware in C/C++ and Python for motor drives, control interfaces, and communication protocols.
- Assist in developing hardware for motor drives and build test fixtures.
- Analyze customer specs and propose cost-effective, feasible solutions.
- Plan and execute experimental testing to validate product performance.
- Support manufacturing teams and customers with troubleshooting and product launches.
- Use engineering software and lab equipment to design, simulate, and test electronics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, and Applications Engineering.
- Ensure projects meet timelines and budget targets.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent); 0-5 years of Engineering experience
- Solid understanding of digital and analog circuit design and microcontroller interfaces.
- Experience writing and modifying firmware for motor control applications.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Python and engineering tools such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters.
- Lab-based role with occasional lifting of motors up to 35 lbs.
- Domestic and international travel up to 10%.
Bonus skills:
- Experience with STM32, dsPIC33, or similar processors.
- Knowledge of motor control algorithms (PI, PID, FIR/IIR filters).
- PCB design experience using Altium, PADS, or KiCAD.
- GUI development in Python (e.g., Tkinter), and LabView familiarity.
- Hands-on skills in SMT soldering, board-level modifications, and basic machining.
- Understanding of CAN, RS232, I2C, SPI, USART, ADC, DAC interfaces.
- Exposure to UL standards, EMC, EMI, RF, and embedded systems.
- Experience with 3D printing and CAD tools.
