What you will do:
- Create and Revise Technical Drawings: Develop and update detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for Bison product components and assemblies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with engineering standards.
- Support Product Development: Work closely with engineers to translate concepts, prototypes, and design changes into clear, manufacturable drawings and models.
- Maintain Drawing Documentation: Organize and manage drawing files, bills of materials, and revision histories to ensure up-to-date documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Serve as a key link between Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations, facilitating clear communication and resolving drawing-related issues.
- Apply Industry Standards: Ensure all designs adhere to relevant industry codes, standards, and best practices for safety, quality, and manufacturability.
- Participate in Design Reviews: Contribute to design and project review meetings, providing input on manufacturability, materials, and assembly methods.
- Support Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve drawing processes, templates, and standards to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Assist with Prototyping and Testing: Prepare drawings and documentation to support prototype builds and product testing as needed.
- Monitor Industry Trends: Stay current with advancements in CAD software, drafting techniques, and industry standards.
- Travel to manufacturing or other sites is not frequent, but may be required on occasion.
What we are looking for:
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Drafting, Design Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in technical drafting and design, preferably in mechanical or electro-mechanical products
- Proficiency in CAD software (preferably SolidWorks)
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably Oracle & SAP)
- In-depth understanding of GD&T and ability to create tolerance stackups
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials for pumps, gearing, blowers, or similar products
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
- Willingness to learn and apply new drafting tools and techniques
- Hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving
