Role Summary
AMETEK Precitech Inc., a global leader in ultra-precision machining solutions, is seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined Spindle Assembler to join our high-performance team on second shift. This role is responsible for assembling, testing, and calibrating ultra-precision air-bearing spindles used in advanced manufacturing systems.
What you’ll be doing
- Assemble high-precision spindle components using detailed engineering drawings, work instructions, and schematics.
- Operate ultra-precision diamond turning machines and surface grinders to match fit spindle components.
- Perform mechanical and electrical sub-assembly, including bearing installation, rotor balancing, and wiring.
- Conduct functional testing and calibration of spindles to meet stringent performance specifications.
- Use precision measurement tools (micrometers, dial indicators, etc.) to verify tolerances and alignment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assembly steps, test results, and quality checks.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues and support continuous improvement.
- Follow cleanroom protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
This is what you’ll need to be successful in this role
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical or electrical technology preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in precision assembly or manufacturing, preferably in aerospace, medical devices, or ultra-precision equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, torque drivers, and measurement instruments.
