Role Summary:

 

The Material Handler supports the machine shop by preparing and processing materials to ensure smooth, efficient operations. This role involves handling raw materials, and operating specialized equipment.

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

  • Receive, inspect, and prepare raw materials for machining operations.
  • Cut materials to specified dimensions using Horizontal & Vertical Bandsaws.
  • Operate Proto-Trak Mill for basic machining tasks.
  • Perform laser cutting and laser engraving.
  • Load and unload components from the stress relief oven.
  • Clean parts using the ultrasonic cleaning tank.
  • Safely operate a forklift for material movement.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with work instructions.

 

This is what you’ll need to be successful in this role:

 

  • Verbal and written communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration.
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T prints and technical drawings.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and basic shop math.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a machine shop or similar environment.
  • Forklift certification (crane/power lift certification preferred).

Salary Minimum:  $45,000
Salary Maximum:  $60,000
