Job Title:  Manufacturing and Quality Engineering Manager

Location:

Keene, NH, US, 03431

Business Unit:  Ophthalmic & Precision Solutions
Posting Date:  May 1, 2026
Job Description:

At Precitech, precision isn’t just a buzzword, it’s how we think, build, and improve every day. As our Manufacturing and Quality Engineering Manager, you’ll sit at the intersection of quality systems, process improvement, and operational excellence.

This role is both strategic and hands on. You’ll be on the manufacturing floor working side by side with teams to solve real problems, strengthen quality systems, reduce waste, and build safer, more capable processes. You’ll own key elements of our Quality Management System, drive key project initiatives, and serve as a technical leader for quality, CI, and EHS execution across the site.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own and maintain key elements of the site Quality Management System (QMS), including procedures, work instructions, and records.
  • Lead nonconformance management, root cause analysis, and CAPA to ensure issues are resolved and improvements are sustained.
  • Support and participate in internal and external audits (customer, regulatory, and system audits).
  • Track, analyze, and report quality metrics such as FPY, scrap, rework, and escapes.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to resolve quality issues and implement robust countermeasures.
  • Support customer quality investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Help lay the groundwork for ISO certification and system maturity.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and structured problem solving methods.
  • Identify and eliminate waste, variation, and process instability across manufacturing and support functions.
  • Facilitate value stream mapping, standard work development, visual management, and error proofing.
  • Track CI projects using defined KPIs and ensure improvements are implemented and sustained.
  • Coach teams on data driven decision making and root cause analysis — helping improvements stick, not fade.
  • Support and help maintain site EHS programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Participate in incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action implementation.
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to identify and mitigate safety and environmental risks.
  • Support safety training, audits, inspections, and continuous improvement of safety culture.
  • Track and report EHS metrics and promote proactive risk reduction.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing Engineering on process capability, routings, tooling, and documentation.
  • Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) related to quality, safety, and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain on supplier quality and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor for quality tools, CI methods, and best practices.
  • Prepare and present performance metrics and improvement progress to site leadership.

You will thrive here if you…

  • Like solving problems and don’t stop at the first “fix”
  • Enjoy working with people as much as working with data
  • Believe processes should serve the people doing the work, not the other way around
  • Are comfortable challenging “the way we’ve always done it” (respectfully, of course)
  • Get satisfaction from seeing your ideas implemented on the shop floor

What we are looking for:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Quality, or similar).
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, and management.
  • Hands‑on experience with Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and problem‑solving tools.
  • Comfort working with quality systems, process controls, and improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills — you can explain the why, not just the what.
  • Experience in precision manufacturing or complex electromechanical products is a plus.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred, but not required.
