Ametek PTMC is seeking a highly motivated and organized IT Manager to join our business unit as a key member of the team reporting to the Business Unit Controller. The IT Manager will be based at our Keene, NH location and will require occasional travel to Peabody, MA. The IT Manager will lead and manage ERP and IT activities in support of the business inclusive of functional support for manufacturing which includes ensuring IT systems supporting operations are optimized and aligned with business objectives. This role is critical for integrating ERP systems with cross-functional technologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

PTMC is made up of 2 primary business lines: Precitech designs and manufactures the world’s most advanced ultra-precision machining solutions for freeform diamond turning, milling, and grinding which are used to produce optical lenses, mold inserts, mirrors, and precision mechanical components for defense, aerospace, consumer optics and other high-tech industries and; TMC designs and manufactures the world’s most complete line of precision vibration control systems, serving a broad range of applications including semiconductor manufacturing, life science research, optics, metrology, and numerous academic, industrial and military research projects by providing cost-effective, elegant solutions to problems caused by ambient building floor vibration.
Primary Responsibilities
- In partnership with senior management, develop and execute IT strategies and initiatives that align with the business goals and corporate strategy.
- Provide leadership for the IT team, setting clear objectives and performance standards.
- Oversee the administration, configuration, and optimization of ERP systems including managing system performance, problem resolution, system enhancements, and integration with other systems and applications to ensure seamless data flow and process efficiency.
- Manage the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of systems and technologies used across manufacturing, including Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and SCADA systems to ensure they are properly integrated to support real-time data collection, process control, and reporting and enhance production efficiency and quality.
- Oversee the administration of and enhancements to IT infrastructure systems, including servers, networks, and storage solutions, ensuring their reliability, security, and performance.
- Ensure proper deployment, management, and maintenance of hardware and software applications across the division.
- Ensure the Helpdesk team provides timely, effective support to end-users, addressing issues related to hardware, software, and network access.
- Negotiate contracts, develop and manage vendor relationships and service level agreements (SLAs), and regularly analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and ensure high-quality customer service.
- In coordination with vendors, consultants, and internal teams, develop and execute project plans with clear timelines, resource requirements, and risk management strategies.
- Implement and manage disaster recovery, business continuity plans, and cyber security measures and ensure secure data management, integrity and compliance.
- Work with stakeholders to define reporting and data requirements and develop solutions to provide actionable insights and support decision-making.
- Develop and deliver training programs for end-users to maximize the effective use of IT systems.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation related to IT processes, procedures, and user guides.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years experience.
- Experience managing ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and technologies within a manufacturing environment (e.g., MES, SCADA).
- Proven experience leading IT teams and managing cross-functional projects related to ERP and shopfloor IT systems.
- Experience working in a Public company with SOX controls and deliverables a plus
- Excellent project management skills and experience with budgeting, resource planning, and risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
