Description:

Precitech designs and manufactures ultra-precision machining solutions for freeform diamond turning, milling, and grinding which are used to produce optical lenses, mold inserts, mirrors, and precision mechanical components. Our machines produce rotationally symmetric, asymmetric, freeform, and sculpted geometries with form tolerances in the sub-micron range and nanometer surface finishes.​

The Electrical Engineer will manage and direct the design and specification of wiring lists, schematic and circuit boards, and controls components for use in ultra precision, computer numerically controlled, machine tools. Integrate into the core engineering team and partner with other business stakeholders to deliver and support products in the field, including marketing/product managers, application engineering teams, manufacturing teams, and service teams.​

Primary and secondary responsibilities will include:​

  • Conceptualizing and engineering new, unique electrical systems that meet customer requirements. ​
  • Developing and growing Precitech’s core technologies
  • Creating panel layouts, wiring run lists, BOMs, build instructions, and selecting components
  • Troubleshooting electrical noise and transients, controllers, servo systems, motion controllers, and other sophisticated electronic equipment. ​
  • Performing engineering changes according to Precitech’s ECO process
  • Actively participating in product design reviews and work directly with the engineering staff to develop cost effective solutions. ​
  • Contributing to written instruction and operation manuals for Precitech's products.
  • Managing and guiding 3rd party resources
  • Executing technically challenging and time-sensitive projects in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Traveling to customer sites up to 10% of the time.

 

A candidate must have:​

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of work experience or Master's degree with 2+ years of work experience in Electrical Engineering.​
  • Experience using electrical equipment such as signal generator, multimeter, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer.​
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills are needed.​
  • Excellent problem-solving skills through structured approach and solution generation in a timely manner.​

A top candidate will have:

  • General programming knowledge: C, C++, or similar.​
  • Experience designing to meet CE standards.
  • Experience in data acquisition, analog and digital signal processing.​
  • Experience with amplifiers, filters, encoders, motion controllers, and feedback loops.​
  • Experience using Matlab in modeling, data analysis and simulations.​
