Job Description: 

Precitech designs and manufactures ultra precision machining solutions for freeform diamond turning, milling, and grinding which are used to produce optical lenses, mold inserts, mirrors, and precision mechanical components. Our diamond turning machines produce rotationally symmetric, asymmetric, freeform, and sculpted geometries with form tolerances in the sub-micron range and nanometer surface finishes.

 

In this highly visible role, the Customer Support Engineer will serve as a liaison between the customer and the company on technical service and application-related topics.  Responsibilities to include: machine buy-offs and installations, customer training, process development and applications support.

 

Specific Duties: 

• Coordinating and performing machine acceptance testing.
• Develop and implement customer training classes. 
• Installations, testing and troubleshooting of ultra-precision machines.

• Collaboration with Engineering in the development of technical support documentation.
• Close cooperation with product management, sales and engineering in utilizing customer feedback in setting development priorities.
• Provide on-site and remote customer support.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Associates degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Engineering or Electronics with proven experience working with complex electro-mechanical capital equipment.
  • Experience with diamond turning or other material removal machines.
  • Familiarity with motion controls, DC servo systems, programmable logic controllers, personal computers, and rudimentary networking.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems with ability to follow schematics.
  • Detail-orientated, well-organized and highly motivated team player capable of working with minimal direct supervision.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Superior customer relation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally.
