Job Description: 

 

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / Haas Operator with the ability to set up and operate CNC vertical machining centers, specifically Haas vertical milling machines. The ideal candidate will demonstrate precision machining skills, a strong understanding of GD&T, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate Haas vertical milling machines to produce precision metal components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and daily dispatch lists to machine parts to exact specifications.
  • Maintain tolerances of +/- .0005” or tighter.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using CMM and open setup techniques.
  • Record time and material usage accurately through production paperwork.
  • Conduct operator-level maintenance on Haas machines (daily, weekly, semi-annual).
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Assembly, and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Lead or assist in special projects with minimal supervision, using prints or sketches.
  • Train and mentor junior machinists or operators.
  • Support production continuity by assisting in various shop functions.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or technical training preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in CNC machining, including setup and operation of Haas vertical mills.
  • Experience with 2, 3, 4, and 5-axis machines.
  • familiarity with Fanuc, Yasnac, and Haas control systems.
  • Background in ISO 9001:2008 or AS9100C certified environments.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, MasterCam, Siemens NX CAD, and CAM software.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • CNC troubleshooting, process verification, and downtime reduction.
  • Preventative maintenance and quality control practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies.

 

Compensation

Employee Type:  Hourly
Salary Minimum:  $55,000
Salary Maximum:  $60,000
Incentive:  No
