Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Welder with expertise in TIG and EB welding and fabrication. The ideal candidate will have experience with various welding processes and be able to work in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. You will certify to AWS D17.1 for Groups IIB, IIIB, IV, and VI, working with materials ranging from .020” to .200”. The role involves delivering high-quality workmanship, maintaining a clean work area, managing job paperwork, and meeting shipment deadlines as directed by supervisors.
How You Will Do It
- Certify to AWS D17.1 for Groups IIB, IIIB, IV, and VI.
- Work with material thicknesses ranging from .020” to .200” across all specified groups.
- Deliver top-quality workmanship and maintain high efficiency throughout the production process.
- Ensure all products and goods meet the industry’s highest quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Initiate and manage all paperwork related to welding jobs to ensure smooth job continuity.
- Follow and execute supervisor instructions to meet shipment deadlines and commitments.
What We Look For
- Experience: 3-5 years in a welding role, with industry-related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with general workshop tools, equipment, and materials related to welding and the aerospace industry.
- Technical Drawings: Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings to military and aerospace specifications.
- Welding Skills: Expertise in tack welding, fabricating shop aids and fixtures, and understanding weld schedules.
- Weld Joints: Familiarity with all types of weld joints.
- Preparation: Skills in solvent cleaning, trimming, sizing, and polishing to prepare weld joints.
- Machine Setup: Ability to set up machines according to work instructions for trimming, sizing, forming, inspecting, and GTAW (TIG welding) to meet fabrication drawing requirements.
- Compliance: Reviewing drawings for final dimensions, weld note callouts, and selecting appropriate base and filler materials.
- Job Setup: Proficiency in setting up and laying out jobs using blueprints, diagrams, and fixtures, and TIG welding in all positions, including using rotary turntables for manual welding.
- Vision Requirements: Near vision of Jaeger #2 at 12” and far vision of 20/30 or better in either eye, with or without corrective lenses.
