Position Summary 

The Electronics Manufacturing Engineer will support next-generation FPGA and RF products in an exciting high growth market. The fast-paced Abaco manufacturing group produces leading edge ruggedized ADC, DAC, and digital signal processing products as part of a global company providing turnkey and off the shelf solutions for the defense and science industries. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve technical issues reported by manufacturing teams. This includes troubleshooting problems with system test hardware, analyzing root causes, and implementing timely and effective solutions.
  • Perform maintenance activities such as software updates, bug fixes, and hardware upgrades to improve product testing performance and reliability.
  • Conduct testing and validation to ensure that changes and updates do not introduce new issues or impact existing functionalities negatively.
  • Maintain product releases and accurate documentation related to product configurations, issue resolutions, and changes made during the sustaining phase.
  • Participate in product readiness reviews to ensure complete and sustainable releases that ensure testing capability supports expected sales volumes of new products.
  • Identify opportunities for product enhancements or optimizations based on feedback, usage data, and emerging technologies. Proactively ensure that existing test equipment is capable and available when required to meet production needs.
  • Ensure that all changes and updates comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or similar hardware specialized trade.
  • Experience with printed circuit board schematics and layout is a strong plus.
  • Experience with Xilinx FPGA and tools (ISE / Vivado) is a strong plus.
  • Experience with C / C++, Windows, and Linux is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a hands-on leader, ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask, coupled with strong analytical ability, and attention to detail.

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience troubleshooting and debugging Analog and Digital hardware in semi -automated and manual test hardware.
  • Experience using Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
  • Experience with low-level software development (C/C++ preferred).
  • Familiar with standard lab debug tools (oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, multi-meter, etc.)
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment where priorities and tasks may change based on business needs.

Salary Minimum:  $110,000
Salary Maximum:  $130,000
