Job Description: 

Ameron MRO is seeking a Shop Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing and repair operations at our Holbrook, NY facility. This position is responsible for supervising shop personnel, coordinating workflow, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and driving operational efficiency to meet customer delivery commitments.

 

The Shop Supervisor is a hands-on leader who actively supports daily production activities while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement,AMETEK  and operational excellence.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Direct and supervise daily shop operations to ensure production schedules and customer requirements are achieved.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop production employees to maximize performance and engagement.
  • Monitor workflow, labor utilization, and production output to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Assign and prioritize work based on business demands and delivery commitments.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, FAA requirements, quality standards, and operational procedures.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to resolve production issues and improve processes.
  • Review work orders and production documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material availability to support production requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve production delays, quality concerns, and process inefficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate production records, productivity metrics, and staffing schedules.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, corrective action, and employee development activities.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Support the maintenance and organization of the shop by performing light maintenance tasks, monitoring equipment condition, coordinating minor repairs, and ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained in accordance with safety and quality requirement.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.

 

Education:

 

  • Associate degree in Manufacturing, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

 

Experience:

 

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment; Self-motivated with a data results driven approach; Proven creative and problem-solving ability with solid work ethic
  • Demonstrated success in organizational and team leadership; Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively with engineering team members and customers
  • Strong manufacturing background and experience in Lean/Six Sigma
  • Leads and designs lean manufacturing goals and strategies for improving processes
  • Manages all activities for continuous improvement and performance enhancements
