Job Title: Director of Information Technology & Infrastructure

The Director of Information Technology is accountable for the stability, security, and scalability of Telular’s infrastructure and technology services. This role leads infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT operations, serving as the senior technology partner to Engineering and the business. The Director governs enterprise systems, including ERP and billing platforms, and leads a team of hands‑on professionals by setting direction, standards, and priorities while remaining accountable for outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure & Cybersecurity
- Oversee WAN/LAN, cloud, and data center environments, ensuring availability, performance, resilience, and scalability.
- Direct major infrastructure initiatives, including data center exits, system migrations, upgrades, and legacy decommissioning, with documented plans, risk management, and business sign‑off.
- Own and govern the cybersecurity posture for the business, including security controls, patching, access management, and alignment with corporate security standards.
- Act as the security and architecture partner for Engineering, ensuring development and production environments meet security and compliance expectations.
- Ensure disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies are defined, tested, and executed by the team.
- Lead management of VMware‑based virtualization and platform services across the application stack; collaborate with Engineering and MSP partners
Enterprise Systems & ERP
- Oversee ERP developers and vendors, partnering with Finance and Operations to improve accuracy, controls, efficiency, and scalability.
IT Operations & Service Management
- Oversee IT operations and service delivery, with accountability for SLA performance, KPIs, and user satisfaction.
- Act as the senior escalation point for infrastructure, cybersecurity, and platform‑related issues impacting Engineering or the business, translating technical risk into business impact and priorities.
- Govern infrastructure and security vendors and managed service partners, with clear accountability for outcomes, service quality, and compliance with enterprise standards.
Leadership Expectations
- Lead and develop a team of hands‑on IT professionals and external partners.
- Set standards, priorities, and decision frameworks while delegating day‑to‑day execution.
- Partner effectively with Engineering, Finance, Operations, and corporate IT leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field required, additional network or infrastructure-related certifications are preferred.
- 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in a leadership or management role overseeing enterprise IT environments.
- Strong background overseeing enterprise infrastructure, including WAN/LAN networks, routers and switches, cloud and on‑prem data center environments.
- Demonstrated experience owning and governing cybersecurity in a production environment, including security infrastructure, patching, access controls, and audit alignment.
- Proven experience owning ERP or enterprise business systems, including financial or billing platforms, with accountability for availability, security, and data integrity.
- Experience overseeing developers and external vendors, holding them accountable to delivery, security, and quality standards.
- Experience partnering with Engineering, Finance, and Operations to deliver secure, reliable technology solutions.
- Proven ability to lead through oversight, influence, and accountability, not personal execution.
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
