Job Description:
The Test Engineer, within the Harleysville Engineering group, will have the ability and skillset to develop and support a variety of electronic and electro/mechanical testing equipment validation. Additional duties include developing test procedures, test setups, troubleshooting product, supporting new product integration activities, and acting as the technical interface between other functional groups and other AMETEK sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and build manual and automated test equipment, including the development of the operating test software
- Provide support of new production test equipment into manufacturing environment
- Provide electronics test and troubleshoot support as related to PCB assemblies and electronic instruments
- Support new product development activities by working with the Design Engineering team to develop and implement test strategies and equipment
- Initiate improvement ideas and see through to implementation
- Any other work as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred OR equivalent experience
- 5 years’ experience in a technical Manufacturing/Engineering environment supporting product testing/validation
- Thorough understanding of analog and digital electronics
- Experience developing automated test equipment utilizing software tools such as Bus Tools, Visual Basic, LabView
- Experience with various communication protocols, such as RS485, SPI, ARINC
- Prior experience working in the Aerospace & Defense industry is a plus (RTCA DO-160G knowledge)
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience identifying, justifying, building, qualifying and implementing new equipment into a production environment
- Experience programming automated equipment
- Strong analytical thinking, problem solving skills and communication skills (both written and verbal) with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects and meet critical deadlines.
- Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to relationship-building, both internally and externally.
- Must be self-directed and be able to work well under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
