Power & Data Systems (PDS), an AMETEK Aerospace & Defense business, designs and manufactures highly engineered power distribution, motion control, and data management solutions for mission‑critical aerospace and defense applications. The business operates across a global, multi‑site footprint including manufacturing facilities in Binghamton, NY; Harleysville, PA; Wichita, KS; Bothell, WA; and Reynosa, Mexico, with additional engineering resources in Bangalore, India. About the Role

 

The Division Vice President, Business Unit Manager is the senior leader with full P&L ownership for the PDS Business Unit. This executive role is responsible for setting and executing strategy, driving sustainable growth, and leading all functional areas including sales, marketing, engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, finance, human resources, and aftermarket support.

The role requires a proven Aerospace & Defense executive who thrives in a decentralized, performance‑driven environment, brings strong technical and operational credibility, and has demonstrated success scaling complex, engineered businesses. This is a high‑impact leadership position with significant visibility to Division and Corporate leadership and strong potential for broader enterprise leadership roles.

 

 

 

How You Will Make an Impact

 

 

Enterprise & P&L Leadership

  • Own full P&L responsibility for the PDS Business Unit across all sites, including revenue growth, margin expansion, cash flow, and return on invested capital
  • Drive operating performance across sales, profitability, working capital, on‑time delivery, and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure disciplined execution of commitments while balancing growth investments and cost productivity

 

Strategy & Growth Leadership

  • Develop and execute the Business Unit’s strategic plan, aligned with AMETEK’s four‑pillar growth strategy: operational excellence, new product development, global/market expansion, and M&A
  • Lead competitive analysis, portfolio strategy, pricing discipline, and market segmentation
  • Identify and evaluate organic and inorganic growth opportunities, including acquisition targets and integration planning

 

Commercial & Customer Leadership

  • Provide executive leadership to sales, marketing, and customer-facing teams, ensuring strong relationships with key OEMs and defense customers
  • Strengthen aftermarket and lifecycle support strategies to enhance long‑term customer value
  • Serve as an executive ambassador to customers, partners, and industry stakeholders

 

Engineering & Product Development

  • Oversee engineering and new product development with a focus on design for manufacturability, design for Six Sigma, and disciplined program management
  • Ensure robust project execution, schedule adherence, and cost control across development programs
  • Balance innovation, technical rigor, and time‑to‑market in a regulated A&D environment

 

Operations & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead multi‑site manufacturing operations with an emphasis on Lean principles, quality excellence, and delivery performance
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives including SIOP, Kanban, 5S, Kaizen, and capacity optimization
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and operational rigor

 

Leadership & Organization Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing leadership team across functions and geographies
  • Establish clear expectations, metrics, and accountability aligned with AMETEK’s decentralized model
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement

 

 

What You Will Bring to the Role

 

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
  • MBA or Master’s degree is a plus

Experience & Executive Profile

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive leadership in a senior role with full P&L responsibility
  • Prior leadership experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry is strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of leading commercial and operations organizations
  • Strong strategic planning capability, including market analysis, pricing strategy, portfolio management, and growth execution
  • Strong financial acumen with experience operating in a public company environment, balancing cost pressure with growth and performance
  • Ability to translate strategy into execution through metrics, rigor, and disciplined follow‑through
