Job Description: 
  • Diagnose and resolve instrument fault conditions and/or measurement issues during distress breakdown situations on customer site.
  • Carry-out Talycare preventative maintenance and calibration visits on customer site in line with contractual requirements.
  • Install and commission instruments on customer site to specification in line with relevant documentation (for example IMS) and customer contract, paying particular attention to any additional acceptance requirements (for example GR&R).
  • Provide operator and metrology training during installation in line with the customer contract, or at any other time as dictated by customer order.  
  • Advise on instrument siting, including necessary electrical/pneumatic installations, electrical safety and environmental conditions.
  • Advise on safe product handling during installation and/or decommissioning.
  • Provide routine instrument maintenance training during installation where detailed in the customer contract, or at any other time as dictated by customer order.
  • Visit Taylor Hobson head office in the UK to complete customer pre-acceptance and/or buy off as required.
  • Visit Taylor Hobson head office in the UK to complete Accredited Service Engineer training on new products, or to renew accreditation as required.
  • Provide on-site and internal training for local colleagues and/or new starters as appropriate.
  • Assemble, disassemble, pack or move, customer equipment to Taylor Hobson specification and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide customer and technical support for the local market.  Customer contact as required to underpin day to day working requirements.
  • Communicate technical and commercial issues using the relevant documentation (for example Warranty Parts Claim Form) as appropriate to resolve local customer issues and/or provide feedback on design or quality issues.
  • Support Sales exhibitions as required.
  • Build and/or recondition metrology instruments as directed to support Used Trading sales.
  • Plan and organise travel schedules, hotel arrangements and tooling/calibration artefact requirements for allocated work to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Complete all necessary documentation as directed to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage credit card and money advances prudently in line with ACES expense claims policy and local budget.
