Job Description: 

The Finance Manager, US Operations will have a broad range of technical, day-to-day finance/accounting, and cost accounting responsibilities. These include involvement with revenue recognition and compliance, forecasting and budgeting, revenue and gross margin analysis, monthly close activities, cost accounting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, as well as involvement in annual audit and consolidation reporting.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Hands on day-to-day management and processing of financial transactions in orders, sales, accounts receivable, accounts payable, costing, payroll, expenses, cashflow management and capital expenditure / fixed assets.
  • Month-end close and preparation and interpretation of financial reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare balance sheet and income statement information, determining variances and trends and report to management.
  • Prepare the annual tax package, handle sales taxes, and liaise with the corporate tax team.
  • Assist management throughout the financial planning budget and monthly forecasting cycles
  • Perform Sarbanes Oxley compliance testing.
  • Maintain effective internal controls, while striving to enhance controls, to ensure protection of assets and accurate reporting of financial position.
  • Perform commercial reviews of customer orders and contracts.
  • Ensure revenue recognition compliance.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.
  • Provide corporate payroll team with the hours and commission information for payroll runs. Process relevant reports, and accounting entries as required.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships across the sales and service functions to support, challenge and influence the team to help them succeed in their objectives.
  • Proactively seek improvements in working capital.
  • Support the European UPT businesses operating in the USA with closing.
  • Other ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • ERP System and Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Strong background in GAAP, SEC Reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance.
  • Microsoft Office skills, with a focus on Excel skills to automate and manipulate data (basic VBA macros, pivots, Xlookups, charts, etc.).
  • Hands-on individual with the ability to understand the technical aspects of how manufacturing costs are generated.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work well under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and a bias for action.
  • Highly organized with sound administrative skills.

Compensation

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $110,000
Salary Maximum:  $140,000
Incentive:  No
