Reporting to the Business Unit (BU) IT Manager, the Business Systems Analyst plays a pivotal role in driving technological improvements, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting the organization’s overall objectives. This role combines technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership capabilities to optimize business processes, manage technical challenges, and guide the team in leveraging technology effectively.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
Business Process Analysis & Technology Implementation
- Analyze complex business challenges across various operational areas, leveraging data from diverse sources to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Design and recommend technological solutions to enhance operational processes, align with strategic goals, and address business needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document and refine business processes and workflows.
Project Leadership
- Act as a project lead for moderate to large-scale initiatives related to business-supporting applications (e.g., CRM, ERP, PLM).
- Develop cost-benefit analyses to justify projects, including detailed projected budgets and resource requirements.
- Assign and direct project teams across multiple IT disciplines/departments and other resources to ensure successful execution.
- Design and oversee project testing and quality assurance activities to meet deliverables and specifications.
Collaboration with Functional Leaders
- Work with functional leaders to define and document specifications that address gaps in business functionality or data.
- Ensure alignment between business needs and technological solutions to bridge identified gaps effectively.
Continuous Improvement & Strategic Alignment
- Develop a deep understanding of all aspects of the business to identify and propose continuous improvement opportunities.
- Research emerging technologies and trends to recommend innovative solutions that align with the organization’s objectives.
- Lead and support the deployment of new systems and process enhancements.
IT Infrastructure Management
- Maintain stable and functioning infrastructure to support end-user requirements.
- Ensure up-to-date understanding and maintenance of operating systems for computer hardware and ERP applications.
- Support all user devices, including PCs, phones, and servers, ensuring operational stability.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to:
• Networks and connectivity
• Client/server systems
• PC hardware and desktop application software
• Peripheral devices
- Work collaboratively with IT teams and vendors to address complex system challenges effectively.
- Establish and maintain documentation for troubleshooting procedures and system configurations.
Team Leadership & Training
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to professional and technical staff.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance team knowledge on business systems, software applications, and technology best practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
Compliance and Standards
- Adhere to all AMETEK IT standards and ensure compliance across assigned projects and operations.
- Continuously improve workflows, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and communication practices within the IT environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT business analysis, systems management, or a similar role.
PROFESSIONNAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED & ABILITIES
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving IT infrastructure and application issues.
- Knowledge of business process management and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency with enterprise applications, network systems, and software tools (e.g., CRM, ERP, PLM).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities to guide and support team development.
- Strong project management skills, including budget and resource planning, team coordination, and quality assurance oversight.
Preferred
- Experience in project management and change management.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, CRM platforms, and other business tools.
- Certifications in ITIL, Six Sigma, or related methodologies are a plus.
