Reporting to the IT Manager, the System Administrator Specialist contributes to the smooth running of information systems. He/she participates in the installation, configuration, and support of equipment and software used by users; he/she monitors systems on a daily basis and contributes to the security and maintenance of the IT infrastructure.

 

Responsibilities:

The IT Administrator Specialist will:

  • Plan and coordinate the configuration, administration, maintenance, and operations of all servers, workstations, laptops, and networks for CAMECA sites and global users;
  • Contribute to the analysis of technical requirements and participate in the evaluation of hardware and software solutions, supporting the IT Manager and proposing simple improvements to the tools and configurations used;
  • Provide technical support to internal teams on IT tools and equipment and participate in the technical integration of new tools according to IT department guidelines;
  • Ensure daily monitoring of the proper functioning of systems (verification of backups, basic resource checks, and alerts);
  • Identify malfunctions and apply resolution or escalation procedures;
  • Provide application/technical support for a wide variety of software packages and enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, DMS, and PLM systems;
  • Log issues in the tracking system and coordinate issue resolution with other workgroups, and ensure communication, transfer, and follow-up.

 

Requirements:

  • Education & experience:
    • Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience;
    • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in all aspects of information systems operations in a virtualized environment;
  • Professionnal knowledge & abilities:
    • Comfortable with most aspects of operating system administration such as Windows, system installation and configuration, printing systems, fundamental principles of IT security, and third-party software installation.
    • Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels, actively seek improvements, and provide innovative ideas;
    • Proactive in offering recommendations and providing technical support to all levels of administrative staff;
    • English level: B2
