Job Title: Sr. Tooling Development Engineer

Position Summary:
The Senior Tooling Development Engineer will own the full lifecycle of tooling design, building, and implementation of fixtures, tools, and rigs for our newest products. Working collaboratively with other Engineers and Technicians, the Senior Tooling Development Engineer will turn ideas into working prototypes and production equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee complete tooling development for emerging aerospace hardware
- Lead detailed 3D modeling of complex tooling components and assemblies
- Prepare design concepts, sketches, layouts, technical drawings, and BOMs
- Develop and run tests of new fixtures to ensure product performance and quality
- Champion the continuous improvement of tooling and build processes
- Maintain revision control of new and existing fixtures
- Debug issues and work through root cause fixes with design engineering
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure product manufacturability
- Certify technical reviews and other engineering documentation
- Lead cross-functional activities to sustain existing designs
- Support proposals and future product development
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Expertise in parametric CAD design
- Expertise in drawing ANSI standards and GD&T procedures
- Expertise in manufacturing techniques and processes
- Strong hands-on experience with hardware assembly and testing
- Knowledge of material properties and selection process
- Knowledge of FMEAs and quality assurance processes
- Highly motivated self-starter

Education and Experience:
- 10+ Years of experience in the design and development of tooling for scaling technologies
- Machining or fabrication experience strongly preferred
- Aerospace or high-reliability product experience strongly preferred
- Sheet metal forming or similar industry experience strongly preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work for prolonged periods on a computer and in a lab environment
- Ability to move equipment up to 25 pounds
Other Requirements:
- Due to contracts with the United States Government, the candidate must be either a US Citizen or Green card holder.
