Job Title: Fin Operator

The Fin Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, fabrication, inspection, and handling of fin stock and finned components used in the manufacture of aerospace heat exchangers and thermal management products. This position requires a strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work from engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation to produce high-quality products that meet aerospace standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor fin-forming machines and related manufacturing equipment.
- Produce fin stock and finned components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality requirements.
- Perform tooling changes, machine adjustments, and minor equipment setup to maintain production efficiency and product quality.
- Monitor machine performance and make process adjustments as necessary to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments and visual inspection techniques.
- Verify fin dimensions, spacing, height, material condition, and overall workmanship requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing travelers, work orders, and process documentation.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, scales, and inspection tools.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing, machine operation, or metal fabrication experience preferred.
- Experience operating production, stamping, roll-forming, fin-forming, or metal fabrication equipment preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds on a regular basis.
- Manual dexterity required to operate machinery and use measuring instruments.
