Job Description: 

 

The Production and Field Technician is responsible for assembling SMARTruck fueldelivery data capture systems for customers in the fuel distribution industry. The role also supports a range of production activities, including inventory management, shipping, and receiving. Depending on customer demand, the technician may be assigned to field work. These field responsibilities include onsite system installations and related troubleshooting tasks.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Build SMARTruck systems to meet production demand.
  • Assemble various kits and wire harnesses to support system requirements.
  • Create pick lists in the Inventory Control Management (ICM) system.
  • Monitor assembly hardware levels and submit requisitions as needed.
  • Integrate product changes or improvements into the Bill of Materials (BOM) and perform testing as required.
  • Conduct system installations and service calls as needed.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts.
  • Assist with general housekeeping activities.
  • Provide backup support to other team members as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications 

 

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Three to five years of basic electrical experience, including assembly wiring skills, is required.
  • Three to five years of experience working with small power tools such as drills, grinders, and voltage meters is required.
  • Experience staging electronic devices, such as handheld computers and WiFi routers, is preferred.
  • One to two years’ experience installing electronics in large vehicles or similar is preferred.
  • The ability to travel approximately 20% to customer locations in the U.S. and Canada for field technician work is required.
  • Strong communication skills are essential, as field work is customerfacing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel) is required.

Compensation

Employee Type:  Hourly
Salary Minimum:  $50,000
Salary Maximum:  $65,000
Incentive:  No
