We are seeking a Director, Operations responsible for leading and executing operational activities for the SkyBitz Petro Logistics business. This role has accountability for planning, procurement, inventory management, order fulfillment, production coordination, shipping and receiving, RMA management, customer billing support, supplier management, facility operations, environmental health and safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

The Director, Operations will lead the operational team and ensure execution of business objectives related to revenue growth, customer satisfaction, working capital management, operational excellence, and profitable business expansion.

 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success leading operations in a low-volume, high-mix, customer-facing environment where forecasting accuracy, inventory management, order fulfillment, billing support, and cross-functional collaboration are critical to business performance. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, business acumen, analytical skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Leadership

  • Lead all Petro Logistics operational activities, including planning, procurement, fulfillment, inventory management, shipping and receiving, RMA, and production coordination.
  • Lead and develop a team responsible for customer orders, procurement, inventory control, shipping and receiving, production support, and related operational activities.
  • Establish operational priorities that support customer requirements, revenue objectives, and business goals.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies that improve customer service, operational efficiency, inventory performance, and working capital utilization.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Revenue Planning & Forecasting

  • Own Petro revenue forecasting processes based on shipments, open orders, customer schedules, and business opportunities.
  • Maintain forecasting tools and reporting processes, ensuring alignment with company reporting and financial expectations.
  • Provide operational visibility and recommendations to support revenue attainment and customer commitments.
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Customer Support, and Business Leadership to identify risks and opportunities impacting forecast performance.

Inventory, Supply Chain & Procurement

  • Manage inventory levels to support customer demand while achieving working capital objectives.
  • Lead replenishment planning and procurement activities required to maintain continuity of supply.
  • Approve purchase orders within established authorization limits and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Oversee physical inventory counts, cycle count programs, inventory adjustments, and inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, service, and cost objectives are achieved.
  • Drive inventory optimization initiatives that improve material availability while reducing excess inventory and slow-moving stock.

Customer Fulfillment & Operational Execution

  • Direct execution of all activities required to meet shipment, fulfillment, and revenue targets.
  • Coordinate shipping schedules based on customer requirements, inventory availability, operational capacity, and truck availability.
  • Oversee customer order processing, fulfillment execution, shipping, receiving, and reverse logistics activities.
  • Manage RMA processes and ensure timely resolution of customer product returns and operational issues.
  • Support field service and installation activities as required to meet customer commitments.
  • Collaborate closely with Customer Support, Sales, Billing, Product Management, and Engineering teams to ensure customer satisfaction and business success.

Monthly Service Fee Billing Support

  • Support monthly service fee billing through detailed analysis and reconciliation of active, inactive, enrolled, and billable devices.
  • Provide operational files and system data required to support monthly billing activities.
  • Resolve customer-specific billing reconciliation issues and maintain data accuracy across systems.
  • Partner with Finance and Billing teams to ensure recurring revenue billing is accurate and complete.
  • Support device warranty administration and associated operational processes.

Facility Management, Safety & Compliance

  • Lead facility management activities including maintenance, repairs, landlord coordination, utilities, cleaning services, pest control, waste management, and related site operations.
  • Serve as primary operational contact for facility-related issues and business continuity concerns.
  • Manage Environmental Health & Safety programs and maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain emergency preparedness programs, safety procedures, site inspections, and related compliance activities.
  • Coordinate relationships with external service providers supporting facility and operational requirements.

Data Analysis, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain KPIs that provide actionable insight into shipments, revenue performance, inventory, working capital, fulfillment performance, supplier performance, and customer service levels.
  • Lead regular operations reviews focused on business performance, customer commitments, inventory management, quality, and process improvement.
  • Analyze customer schedules, order activity, inventory levels, supplier commitments, and operational performance to support decision-making.
  • Build and maintain reporting tools using Microsoft Excel and other business systems.
  • Maintain and improve operational procedures, documentation, and standard work processes.
  • Drive Lean, Operational Excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, reduce cost, eliminate waste, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Ensure effective utilization of business systems supporting order management, inventory control, procurement, shipping, billing support, and customer fulfillment.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing team members.
  • Establish performance expectations, goals, and development plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure appropriate cross-training and succession planning for critical operational functions.
  • Foster a culture of respect, integrity, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives and support business transformation efforts as required.

 

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, Materials Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics, or Fulfillment.
  • Experience managing customer orders, procurement, inventory management, supplier relationships, shipping and receiving, fulfillment, and operational planning.
  • Experience improving working capital, productivity, operational performance, and customer service.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including analysis of large data sets and pivot tables.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced business environment.

Preferred

  • Experience within petroleum logistics, transportation, telematics, IoT, or SaaS-enabled businesses.
  • Experience with GP, Salesforce, ICM, TShip, UPS WorldShip, Ariba, or similar enterprise systems.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, APICS, or Operational Excellence certification.
  • Experience supporting recurring revenue business models and customer billing processes.
  • CompTIA certification or technical systems experience.
