Job Title: Creaform - Intern, R&D (m/f/d) 1 1
Fontaine, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, FR, 38600
Theme
- Computer science, numerical computation & analysis.
- Mathematics & statistics.
- Photogrammetry and computer vision.
Period & duration
The internship will take place in 2026. The internship will last between 5 and 6 months. The ideal candidate will be in their second year of a Master's degree (M2).
Internship title
Evaluation of a nonlinear optimization solver for 3D vision applications.
Role and tasks
Ametek/Creaform designs and develops innovative optical measurement systems, some of which are developed by the R&D team in Fontaine. The internship is part of a strategic review of the evolution of our digital optimization tools.
As part of our processing, we currently use internal and open-source solutions to solve nonlinear adjustment problems. The intern will be tasked with evaluating the potential of a modern solver, recognized for its robustness and performance on complex problems, in order to:
- Study its ability to replace an existing solution in typical use cases.
- Explore its applicability to more demanding processing tasks, particularly in the context of beam adjustments.
The objective is to assess the relevance of this solver for our specific needs, both in terms of performance and maintainability. The intern will be required to design test benches, perform comparisons, and propose avenues for integration or improvement.
The candidate will work within the team responsible for developing these new measurement processes. They will carry out implementations in C++ using our libraries and implement photogrammetric calculation steps. These software developments will be conducted using the C++20 standard, STL, and libraries from
