FARO CREAFORM is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead strategic New Product Development (NPD) programs from idea to market launch within a multidisciplinary engineering environment (hardware, firmware, and software). This role owns end‑to‑end program execution for complex, multi‑year initiatives (typically 18–48 months, involving 10–40 engineers) primarily across Exton, PA and Lake Mary, FL, while collaborating remotely with additional global sites. This senior individual contributor role requires strong program leadership, schedule mastery, and high‑impact executive communication, while also serving as a key partner to the PMO Director to enhance governance and best practices. The salary range for the position is $120k- $150k.
How you will make a difference @ FARO:
- Lead cross functional NPD programs from concept, business case, and requirements through development, alpha and beta phases, production readiness, launch readiness, and post launch stabilization.
- Drive integrated planning across Engineering (HW/FW/SW), Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Service, and Marketing.
- Establish clear program goals, scope boundaries, and decision logs; ensure alignment from working teams through executive steering forums.
- Build and maintain an end to end master schedule with critical path visibility, dependencies, resource constraints, and appropriate risk buffers for 18–48 month programs.
- Own schedule governance: progress measurement, KPI maintenance, variance analysis, recovery planning, and proactive escalation.
- Implement disciplined change control (scope, timeline, cost) and ensure decision makers understand trade offs and impacts.
- Ensure rigorous stage gate execution for hardware programs, including deliverable completeness, entry/exit criteria, and objective evidence.
- Drive “no surprises” gate reviews through early risk identification, issue resolution, and cross functional alignment.
- Lead structured risk management: maintain risk registers, mitigation plans, owners, triggers, and routine reviews.
- Manage cross team dependencies and integration milestones; ensure timely removal of impediments.
- Support fact based decision making and escalate issues with clear options and recommendations.
- Prepare and deliver crisp, executive ready program communications for VP/GM level stakeholders, including status, risks, decisions needed, and forecasted outcomes.
- Facilitate steering committee meetings and leadership reviews; ensure actions, ownership, and follow through.
- Serve as a senior peer/mentor within the PM community—modeling high standards in planning discipline, cadence, and gate rigor.
- Contribute to PMO governance improvements (templates, playbooks, training, leading indicators) with a pragmatic, adoption focused approach.
- Partner with the PMO Director to elevate consistency across programs without adding unnecessary bureaucracy.
This position requires:
- Extensive experience leading complex NPD programs in integrated hardware, firmware, and software environments (multi year, multi team).
- Demonstrated mastery of schedule management including critical path, dependencies, resource constraints, forecasting, and recovery planning.
- Experience operating within stage gate development frameworks and ability to integrate agility into broader program milestones.
- Strong cross functional leadership: influence without authority, conflict resolution, and accountability driving.
- Executive level communication skills, with the ability to translate complexity into decisions, options, and recommendations for senior leadership (VP/GM).
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence; familiarity with enterprise PM tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Planview, or equivalents.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP or equivalent project/program management certification.
- Experience with measurement systems, industrial products, electromechanical systems, or complex product ecosystems.
- Background in multi site development environments (engineering split across locations/time zones).
- Demonstrated contribution to PMO maturity through governance design, templates, standard cadences, and mentoring/training.
