AMETEK Finland is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as our Senior Sourcing Specialist at our Finland unit that currently locates at Espoo.

 

You as our Senior Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that support AMETEK Finland's supply chain, production, quality, cost, and growth objectives. The role serves as the primary lead for strategic supplier management, supplier selection, supplier performance improvement, risk mitigation, contract negotiations, and cost-reduction initiatives. In addition to strategic sourcing responsibilities, the Senior Sourcing Specialist maintains ownership of selected material planning activities to ensure uninterrupted material availability and support daily production requirements. The position collaborates closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Global Supply Chain teams, as well as suppliers across Europe, North America, and Asia.

 

The Senior Sourcing Specialist drives continuous improvement within sourcing and material management processes while ensuring compliance with AMETEK policies, procedures, and ethical business standards. Your Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for direct and indirect materials.
  • Lead supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding activities.
  • Identify and develop alternative sources to reduce supply chain risk.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, contracts, and supplier agreements.
  • Conduct supplier market research and benchmarking activities.
  • Lead supplier business reviews and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Manage supplier capacity planning and long-term supply continuity.
  • Drive annual cost reduction and value engineering projects.
  • Partner with Engineering and R&D to source components for new product introductions.
  • Support make-versus-buy analyses and supplier footprint optimization initiatives.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Establish strong working relationships with key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier delivery, quality, responsiveness, and cost performance.
  • Manage supplier corrective actions and recovery plans when required.
  • Coordinate supplier audits with Quality and Engineering teams.
  • Escalate and resolve critical supply chain disruptions.
  • Support supplier risk assessments and business continuity planning.

Material Planning & Supply Support

  • Create and maintain long-term material forecasts within Business Central.
  • Review MRP outputs and ensure material availability for production requirements.
  • Support purchase order management and expedite critical materials when necessary.
  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend actions to balance supply, demand, and inventory investment.
  • Plan and run Cycle Counting process for AMETEK Finland together with the counters from production teams.
  • Participate in daily production planning meetings.
  • Support receiving, inventory control, and shipment-related material activities as needed.
  • Coordinate material availability for engineering changes and new product launches. 

Process Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within sourcing and planning processes.
  • Develop and maintain sourcing procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Improve purchasing and planning parameters within Business Central.
  • Utilize data analysis to improve supplier performance, inventory management, and service levels.
  • Support implementation of supply chain best practices and digital tools.
  • Material process development to support daily production, volume growth and R&D.
  • Identification and execution of any issues and improvement opportunities related to material processes, together with the team.

 

We Require:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience negotiating with international suppliers.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software (ERP) systems.
  • Experience supporting production planning or material planning activities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive and self-driven attitude.
  • Ability to multitask well and perform with high quality outcome.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. You must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
  • You have an eye for details and a structured and disciplined working style.
  • You enjoy working on tasks that require good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work co-operatively in a diverse team environment.
  • Fluent language skills English and Finnish, both written and oral.
  • Excellent skills in using MS office.
