Job Title: Process Engineer

AMETEK Finland is seeking a highly motivated and self-driven individual to serve as our Process Engineer at our Finland unit that currently locates at Espoo.
As our Process Engineer, you work with equipment and process automation development of AMETEK Finland production process and collaborate with global AMETEK and supplier base for process equipment’s. The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The role focuses on process stability, continuous improvement, troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet production, quality, cost savings, and safety objectives. The Process Engineer supports daily manufacturing and process operations by combining hands-on technical work with passion for automation to streamline processes.
As our Process Engineer, you will be part of a diverse team of experts. There is a strong international aspect in this role and the work is done in co-operation with colleagues from the U.S. and wider AMETEK team. In this role we require from the employee a proactive attitude and ability to handle multiple tasks and keep projects running at the same time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development of technologies, equipment and infrastructure for the production of X-ray detectors and their components.
- Develop, design and build process automation, digitalization, or equipment upgrades where applicable.
- Design of experiments to improve product quality and production yield.
- Development and execution of the data collection systems of production for quality control purposes. Development of the production processes documentation.
- Work on product development projects as assigned.
- Identify and communicate any issues and improvement opportunities related to production processes, efficiency, safety and quality.
- Drive improvements in yield, quality, cycle time, and cost.
- Ensure processes comply with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and participate in root cause analysis for process issues, defects, and deviations.
- Use problem-solving methodologies (e.g. 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA).
- Define, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
- Contribute to best practices and standardized ways of working.
- Create and maintain process documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, control plans, and PFMEAs.
- Support audits, inspections, and customer or regulatory reviews.
- Ensure all changes follow formal change management processes.
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain.
- Provide technical guidance and training to technicians and operators.
- Support other Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams with technical expertise.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Participating in EHS activities.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
We require
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering role.
- Experience in CAD modeling, electric actuators, electrical circuit design, programming (Python, C, Labview, IEC 61131) are considered assets.
- Experience in semiconductor assembly processes, wire and chip bonding, adhesive dispensing and vacuum equipment are considered assets.
- Experience in process optimization, troubleshooting, or industrial operations.
- Hands-on technical and mechanical attitude.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of process engineering principles.
- Experience with data analysis and basic statistics.
- Structured and documentation-oriented working style.
- Problem-solving mindset and analytical thinking.
- You have an eye for details and a structured and disciplined working style.
- You enjoy working on tasks that require good manual dexterity but can handle multiple priorities at the same time.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a diverse team environment.

- Fluent language skills in Finnish and English, both written and oral.

We consider as an advantage:
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher).
- Familiarity with SPC, PFMEA, and risk-based process design.
- Experience working in regulated environments (ISO, GMP, etc.).
- Knowledge of automation, control systems, or process simulation tools.
- Experience in semiconductor wafer processing or testing of semiconductor components.
- Earlier work experience in similar tasks in a laboratory environment or similar.
- Skills of soldering and electrical assembly as well experience in handling oscilloscope, multimeter and similar tools.
- Experience with preventive maintenance or equipment support is an advantage.
- Advanced data analysis skills.
