AMETEK Finland is seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual to serve as our Junior Accountant in our business unit that currently locates at Espoo. AMETEK Finland is part of the Amptek Business with AMETEK. Amptek is a world leader in the design, development, manufacture, and sale of radiation detection components used in X-ray and gamma-ray detection.
AMETEK Finland’s Junior Accountant will perform accounting functions– month end close, financial reporting, audit support, cost accounting, and Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable review, and statutory tax and regulatory reporting. Our new team member needs to have an eye for process improvement but also a can-do attitude to handle the daily routine administrative tasks as well understanding what it takes to collaborate with colleagues in different time zones. Key Responsibilities
- Support BU Manager on all financial reporting.
- General Ledger –prepares consolidated financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations, budgets, and other significant reports as required.
- Journal Entries – prepare month end closing journal entries and accruals.
- Provide Senior Accounting Manager support for quarter end SOX requirements.
- Capital expenditure tracking and maintenance of the Fixed Asset System (FAS).
- Preparation of the monthly consolidated Accounts Receivable Aging report (AR-1).
- Prepare reconciliations and quarter end self-testing as required by Corporate Internal Audit.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP/SOX and provide support in external and internal audits.
- Update and manage standard costs in ERP system.
- Assist in quarterly reporting (MD&A) process.
- Support organization and assist with forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
- Apply principles of cost accounting to provide detailed cost information including standard cost, variance analysis, labor distribution, direct labor & absorption, and inventory analysis.
- Support Controller and Finance team as needed.
- Performing routine administrative tasks, including data entry, controlling, financial reporting and document management.
- Assisting the company's management, board and stakeholders with monthly reporting.
- Providing additional details to payroll such as taxation of share issuance.
We Require
- An undergraduate level degree (eg. Tradenomi) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field and with one to three years’ experience in the accounting field.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a diverse team environment.
- Occasional flexibility in terms of working hours due to the international nature of the work.
- Fluent communication skills in Finnish and English.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and disciplined working style with ability to multi-task.
- Taking ownership on meeting deadlines and able to communicate with employees on site and corporate level.
- Experience with Finnish Statutory requirements and US GAAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and ability to work with complex sheets, pivot tables, advanced formulas.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
