AMETEK Specialty Metal Products (SMP) is a business unit withing a division of AMETEK, Inc. a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices. The Specialty Metal Products division includes seven successful businesses with operating facilities in the United States, United Kingdom, and Malasia.
With a strong focus on safety, the AMETEK Eighty Four plant in Eighty Four, PA produces water atomized high alloy powder and roll bonded clad products. We are seeking a safety-conscious, action-oriented Inside Sales Representative to join our team.
Position Summary:
The Inside Sales Representative serves as the primary liaison between AMETEK and its business-to-business customers, ensuring exceptional service and operational efficiency. This role manages order processing, quoting, logistics planning, and shipping coordination to support customer satisfaction and supply chain performance.
How you will make an impact:
- Respond promptly to inquiries regarding product availability, shipping status, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams (production, logistics, finance) to resolve issues.
- Process and monitor customer purchase orders in ERP systems.
- Ensure accurate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Plan and coordinate domestic and international shipments, ensuring compliance with trade regulations.
- Work with carriers and freight forwarders to optimize delivery schedules and costs.
- Track shipments and proactively communicate status updates to customers.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in orders, invoices, and shipments.
- Escalate complex issues to appropriate departments while maintaining customer confidence.
- Prepare and deliver accurate customer quotes based on pricing guidelines and lead times.
- Collaborate with sales and finance teams to ensure competitive and profitable pricing along with reviewing all relevant documentation and information for accuracy.
- Enter invoice details into the ERP system and release finalized invoices to customers.
- Identify trends in customer feedback and logistics performance; propose process enhancements while supporting initiatives to streamline workflows to improve service quality.
Qualifications:
- Ability to safely work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field or relevant experience.
- 2+ years in B2B customer service, order management, quoting, or logistics (manufacturing preferred).
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Knowledge of industrial or engineered products preferred.
- Experience with international shipping and trade compliance preferred.
