Summary of Position
This position will be responsible for providing data to the AMETEK Commercial and Sales teams to meet sales targets and metrics. This position provides business intelligence and sales operations support through collaborative quota-setting, resource tracking, data modeling/analysis, order management, reporting on key performance indicators, as well as many other ad-hoc analyses. In addition to Sales, this position will interface with many AMETEK functional areas and external vendors to keep a pulse on the business and market. This role requires flexibility for changing priorities and proficiency and ownership of unstructured data.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administers field sales forecasting to provide management with current sales outlook – to include actual and forecasted sales by product and by customer.
- Develops and distributes analytics and reporting to assist field sales with tracking of key performance indicators
- Prepare and present team sales analyses (both written and oral) to senior management that efficiently distill data and demonstrate major business trends and issues
- Generate business insight from performance and forecast metrics and communicate results to leadership.
- Support the Sales and Marketing teams to identify trends within several dimensions, such as customers, markets, etc.
- Develops and implements innovative solutions to help maximize sales.
- Designs and administers sales incentives to support sales goals. Maintain existing sales and incentive related reports and design new reports as needed.
- Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews.
- Create and maintain advanced trending tools and analytical models to aid with business understanding and decision making.
- Evaluate third-party applications for appropriate sales operations functions as needed.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience with sales reporting and analytics
- Experience with MS office and demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel and MS Access or similar relational database applications.
- Must be continuously curious and investigative by nature
- Demonstrated skill in the areas of building and maintaining relationships, problem solving and strategic thinking
- Salesforce.com experience preferred.
- Power BI experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and integrity of analytics
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical, project management, and leadership skills
- Strong business and data modeling and thorough statistical analysis experience is required
- Work on multiple tasks concurrently with changing priorities
- Strong aptitude for achieving successful outcomes: intelligent, tenacious, objective oriented
- Ability to correlate results from data analysis to sales processes to surface insights and support business decisions
