Job Description: 

Solartron ISA uses flow measurement knowledge and expertise developed over five decades to provide life of field solutions for the energy sector. Data generated by our flow meters is used across the globe to improve production revenues by monitoring and allocating hydrocarbon resources or controlling production processes. As the world transition to new energy sources, Solartron ISA is supporting the move to clean energy by developing innovative products including flow meters for Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS).

 

JOB PURPOSE:

The primary function of this role will be to provide engineering expertise during the sales and contract fulfilment process for Solartron ISA’s wellhead production flow meters and niche differential flow products into the energy sector as well as emerging applications for clean energy.

 

JOB SUMMARY:
The Application Engineer will provide technical support for reviewing and generating proposals and support order processing/project engineering. The role will work closely with the sales team,  project engineers and operations staff. In addition, the Application Engineer will have daily direct customer contact with limited travel to proposal clarification and order kick-off meetings. The Application Engineer will provide proactive and mutual service/support to the sales and engineering team in activities such as reviewing customers’ requirements and providing gap analysis to Solartron ISA’s standard products. The application engineer also supports the generation of documentation required through the sales and order fulfilment process.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Reviewing client specifications & interpreting customer requirements
  • Evaluation of customer process data and performance requirements to generate product sizing & selection
  • Generating gap analysis between customer requirements (for example specifications, datasheets, process data and documentation requirement) versus standard designs and developing custom products if required
  • Preparation of Tender & Contract review documentation for presentation during evaluation meetings.
  • Pre & Post-contract engineering for standard and custom products; this includes generation of bills of materials, project-specific procedures and other engineering documentation.
  • Technical liaison between internal disciplines, sub-suppliers  and customers.
  • Provides information to customer services for the generation of customer progress reports

  • The ideal person should have the drive and adaptability necessary to provide a detailed evaluation of customer specifications and generate solutions across varying product lines..
  • They should be resilient to changing requirements and agile in an environment where a client's specifications may vary from tender through to fulfilment.
  • They should be able to work in a team environment across disciplines and can attract the support and cooperation of others.
  • They should have good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to inform and advise at all levels in internal and external meetings.
  • They should be curious with a desire to solve a customer’s technical challenges and develop solutions


EXPERIENCE & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Recognised Engineering qualification (Engineering Degree or relevant experience)
  • Proven Engineering Experience (3 years minimum), preferably in a mechanical engineering discipline.
  • Competent user of MS Office, and sales management tools eg salesforce
  • Occasional travel for customer meetings
