Job Summary
The Business Development Leader is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth by creating market demand, securing strategic opportunities, and expanding AMETEK LMS’ footprint across key industries and customer segments. This role plays a pivotal part in identifying the key strategic initiatives on Local for Local to support key EPC opportunities through regional partners and with end customers. Expanding the growth of LMS products with diversified market approach in MEAI regional.
The role requires a strong blend of commercial leadership, technical depth, product and market insight, and cross-functional collaboration. The Business Development Leader acts as a trusted advisor to customers, a solution architect to pursuit teams, and a catalyst for innovation, diversification, and installed base growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy, Market Development & Growth Planning
- Develop and execute regional or segment-specific business development strategies across Middle East (Angola, South Africa, Egypt, Iraq, India) aligned with AMETEK LMS’ growth objectives.
- Identify, create, and develop new markets, applications, and customer segments to drive diversification and long-term growth by implementing right product value additions to the GCC /ME regional market
- Analyse market demand, customer investment cycles, and competitor activity to proactively shape & build the opportunity pipelines.
- Lead focused opportunity drives with clear priorities, milestones, and revenue outcomes by closely with the regional RSM’s
- Responsible for driving growth and market penetration for new product lines and Drexelbrook products within the assigned region. This role involves identifying opportunities, developing strategies, and building strong relationships with customers, distributors, and internal teams to achieve sales targets and expand market share.
- Develop and lead Drexelbrook MEAI business road map with targeted sales revenue up to $2M by 2027.
LMS MEAI Regional growth Initiatives:
- Increased focus on JAFZA production-for MLI's and GWR LT's by closely working with operation team and doing market analysis on regional competitors.
- Targeting large volume opportunities utilizing JAFZA production for ADNOC and other major operators in the MEAI Region
- Lead the product and capacity enhancement of Dubai /JAFZA with all GCC regional MRO and EPC project requirements with Local key initiatives.
- Initiate the committee and lead the project of MLI -Phase 1 and GWR -Phase II for LMS Saudi Local manufacturing by closely working with JAFZA and Zele and Aurora factory and management team
- Develop pricing strategy for KSA manufacturing with detailed business plan and revenue backup for Year 1-3 to align LMS Global MLI incremental sales approach
- Recover the MLI business and increase the sales using local JAFZA and KSA manufacturing setup to increase the overall sales above ~20M in the in next two years
Demand Creation & Early Project Engagement
- Drive early engagement and specification influence during conceptual, Pre-FEED, and FEED phases of major capital projects.
- Lead demand creation initiatives and technical campaigns to position AMETEK LMS solutions with end users, EPCs, OEMs, and licensors.
- Support specification push activities to ensure AMETEK LMS technologies are embedded in project designs.
Customer Engagement & Relationship Recovery
- Build and strengthen relationships with end users, EPCs, OEMs, consultants, and ecosystem partners.
- Lead customer recovery initiatives where relationships, share, or performance need to be re-established or improved.
- Act as a trusted advisor by understanding explicit and latent customer needs and translating them into value-driven solutions.
Sales Execution, Revenue Growth & Commercial Governance
- Drive achievement of booking and revenue targets across projects, installed base, services, and digital/as-a-service offerings.
- Ensure strong alignment between Sales, Project Management Teams, and Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) to maximize win rates and execution success.
- Support discount authorizations and price realization strategies, balancing competitiveness with profitability.
- Expand installed base revenue through upgrades, lifecycle services, modernization, and digital solutions.
Product Management, Innovation & Special Solutions
- Contribute to product management initiatives, including new innovations, product development, and special or customized solutions.
- Translate market feedback and unmet needs into inputs for product and solution roadmaps.
- Drive opportunity creation and growth for specialized product lines, including Drexelbrook and Genesis, by identifying applications, customers, and projects.
Technical Leadership & Opportunity Support
- Serve as a solution architect, providing technical and commercial direction to pursuit teams and stakeholders.
- Assist RSMs with complex projects, technical challenges, and solution positioning.
- Ensure effective alignment between Quotation Engineers and RSMs to deliver competitive, accurate, and timely proposals.
Cross-Functional & Factory Alignment
- Ensure strong factory alignment to support project requirements, delivery capabilities, and customer commitments.
- Collaborate with Product Sales Channels, Account Leaders, Engineering, Marketing, and Centers of Excellence to deliver integrated solutions.
- Align internal teams around priority opportunities, resource planning, and execution strategies.
Marketing Strategy & Market Presence
- Support development and execution of marketing strategies, including targeted campaigns and solution-focused initiatives.
- Represent AMETEK LMS at industry events, conferences, trade shows, and technical societies to strengthen brand visibility and market leadership.
- Build professional networks and contribute to thought leadership in automation, measurement, and digital solutions.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Experience
- Proven experience in business development, sales leadership, product management, or strategic account management within a complex, matrixed organization.
- Strong exposure to capital projects, early-phase project engagement (Pre-FEED/FEED), and solution-based selling.
- Demonstrated ability to create new markets, recover key customers, and drive both project and installed base growth.
- Level instrumentation and high value instrument package handling project experience is an added advantage.
- Experience: 10-15 years (ME / GCC Experience in Oil & gas is must ~ 10 years preferred)
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline (Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or similar preferred).
