Job Description: 

The Manufacturing Engineer is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining and optimizing production line activities, focusing on process improvement, quality assurance, and efficient production operations within the value stream. Key responsibilities include:

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Participate in daily/weekly shift communication meetings to review line performance (safety, productivity, scrap, customer concerns, 6S).
  • Discuss and initiate countermeasures for off-target performance.
  • Follow up on assembly/operational needs and concerns.
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities to reduce costs, improve efficiencies, and quality utilizing lean/six sigma principles.
  • Evaluate production issues as they arise and, in most cases, make the required changes needed to resolve.
  • Coordinate problem-solving sessions to continuously improve operational performance within the value stream.
  • Provide production assembly support with respect to work instructions, assembly process-related issues, supplied part issues, and resolution of CAPAs stemming from customer complaints.
  • Review and disposition of returned materials associated with customer complaints.
  • Participate in production line scrap review and non-conforming material dispositions.
  • Review and disposition of First Article Reports for supplied components.
  • Manage engineering change notices related to assigned production assembly lines.
  • Write, maintain, and train on work instructions related to assigned production assembly lines.
  • Create and maintain product and shipping labels related to assigned production assembly lines.
  • Develop new tooling and test procedures for assembly and supplier processes.
  • Prepare and participate in team presentations.
  • Develop and implement product improvements related to assigned production assembly lines.

 

Requirements For Consideration

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or industrial engineering with an electrical focus.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience, with a focus on process optimization and value stream management. Experience in a regulated industry such as medical or pharmaceutical is preferred.
  • Green Belt in Six Sigma required; Black Belt preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work with and train others.
  • Understanding of ISO 13485:2016 standard.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and technologies (IoT, AI) to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments and embrace new technologies.
  • Knowledge of sustainable manufacturing practices and environmental regulations.
  • Strategic thinking and change management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer focus.

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $70,000
Salary Maximum:  $80,000
