The purpose of the position is to oversee internal software development activities within Solidstate Controls. We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement software solutions that improve internal processes and operational efficiency. This role focuses on building and integrating tools that enhance quoting, project tracking, reporting, production, and final test automation by leveraging software toolsets to streamline workflows across the organization.

 

Responsibilities also include supporting existing product platforms.  The individual is an energetic, experienced professional who can work both individually and with a team. This position will be in Columbus, OH and will report to the Director of Engineering/R&D.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, Finance, Engineering, Purchasing, Project Management) to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Analyze current internal processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications and integrations to support quoting via Salesforce and Experlogix, project management via Monday.com, and reporting systems such as Power BI.
  • Provide technical support, documentation, and training for internal users.
  • Implement AI agents and machine learning solutions to optimize decision-making and reduce manual effort.
  • Ensure scalability, security, and maintainability of developed tools and systems.
  • Continuously monitor and improve system performance and user experience.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering from a recognized, fully accredited program.
  • Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, and workflow automation tools.
  • Exposure to AI/ML frameworks and practical implementation of AI agents is a plus.
  • Working knowledge and experience with project tracking applications, ERP systems, and Salesforce.

This position is located in Columbus, Ohio.
