Job Title:  Senior Project Buyer

The Senior Project Buyer (Buyouts) performs all functions related to project‑based sourcing, purchasing, negotiating, and execution of complex buyouts in support of large industrial and engineered projects. This role is responsible for managing high‑value procurement activities, including drop‑ship and direct‑to‑site purchases.

The Senior Project Buyer (Buyouts) manages supplier relationships related to project buyouts, including delivery performance, commercial execution, and issue resolution, to ensure alignment with project schedules and financial objectives. This role reports to the Procurement Manager while collaborating closely with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, leadership, and other associates as required.

The successful candidate must be professional and initiative‑taking, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and demonstrate a strong ability to independently drive negotiations, manage multiple concurrent projects, and execute responsibilities in a thorough, complete, and timely manner.

Buyout projects are often large in scale and have a substantial financial impact on the company, both in the competitive award of business and in overall project profitability. Effective cost control, cost reduction, and commercial value creation will be key performance metrics for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement activities for assigned project buyouts, including sourcing, negotiation, award, and execution.
• Prepare RFQs, evaluate supplier quotations, and negotiate commercial terms including pricing, lead time, delivery, and contractual conditions.
• Issue and manage purchase orders for project buyouts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with engineering specifications and project requirements.
• Coordinate and manage drop‑ship and direct‑to‑site deliveries to support project schedules and critical milestones.
• Manage vendor lead times and delivery commitments to meet overall customer and project timelines.
• Provide updates on Buyout projects as required across the organization, management, sales, project managers, etc.
• Monitor and manage supplier performance against delivery, quality, and commercial commitments.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain, cost, and lead‑time risks associated with project‑based procurement.
• Identify and develop cost reduction opportunities through negotiation, alternative sourcing, value engineering, and supplier engagement.
• Review open order reports to ensure on time delivery and maintain promise date integrity in Oracle.
• Monitor market conditions and supplier trends to identify risks and opportunities impacting project execution.
• Interface internally with Project Management, Sales, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Logistics teams as required. 

Desired Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 10+ years of Procurement experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or project‑based supply chain environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or Operations Management preferred; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Project management experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or project‑based supply chain environment is a plus.
• Experience with electrical components, electrical design, and advanced battery technologies is a plus.
• The Senior Project Buyer (Buyouts) should be a highly experienced procurement professional with a demonstrated track record of leading complex negotiations and managing high‑value, project‑based purchases.
• Experience supporting engineered‑to‑order or industrial projects and coordinating drop‑ship or direct‑to‑site deliveries is strongly preferred.
• The successful candidate will be able to operate independently with minimal supervision and contribute immediately to project execution, cost control, and overall business outcomes.

This position is located in Columbus, Ohio.
