This position is for a highly motivated individual to work as part of a research and development team to design and troubleshoot hardware, PCBAs, transformers, and power components for UPS systems. The candidate should have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to work in a team effectively. This position requires support for new products as well as legacy products. The individual is an energetic, experienced professional who can work both individually and with a team. This position will be in Columbus, OH and will report to the Director of Engineering/R&D.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Simulation: Participate in the design and simulation of power electronic circuits, including converters, inverters, and controllers.
- Prototyping and Testing: Assist in the development of prototypes by soldering, assembling components, and wiring circuits, followed by conducting experiments to validate their functionality, efficiency, and reliability.
- Troubleshooting and Debugging: Collaborate with engineers to identify and resolve issues in power electronic systems, utilizing oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools to analyze and debug circuitry effectively.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of design iterations, test results, and experimental procedures, and contribute to the preparation of technical reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of IGBT’s, SCR’s, transformer basics, buck-converters
- Ability to understand and extend schematics.
- Excellent organizational and time management skill
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
