Job Summary:

The Project Engineer is an energetic, experienced professional who will coordinate with clients as well as members of the sales, quoting, design, manufacturing, and service teams to implement UPS, battery chargers, batteries, and supporting equipment for SCI products in customer applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to the project team members by drawing upon an understanding of industrial electrical engineering principles, practices, and standards.
  • Documentation: Prepare and/or maintain project documentation, such as project reports, specifications, drawings, manuals, and other relevant records. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, documentation requirements, and industry standards.
  • Communication: Coordinate with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution. Facilitate effective collaboration and help resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise.
  • Technical Risk Management: Identify potential design or installation risks, assess their impact, and develop mitigation strategies. Regularly monitor and evaluate project progress to identify deviations from the plan and implement corrective measures.
  • Engineering Leadership: Lead and motivate the engineering project team.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to ensure that project deliverables meet the required standards and specifications. Coordinate inspections and tests to verify compliance and address any non-conformities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the electrical or electronics industry.
  • An understanding of UPS, battery chargers, and power distribution systems.
  • Technology-centric background that includes significant customer interaction.
  • Leadership skills to oversee multiple projects at the same time from an engineering perspective.
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineering degree.
  • High intellect, inquisitive personality, leadership potential, and desire to introduce new concepts and methods to the business are essential.
  • Strong project organization, communication, interpersonal, team leadership and organization skills.
  • Ability to work closely with other team members to meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with industrial power distribution systems.
  • Ability to read one-line diagrams.
  • Familiarity with three phase power and distribution systems.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively. Experience managing projects of varying complexity and size.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Problem-solving: Analytical and critical thinking abilities to identify and resolve project-related challenges. Adaptability and flexibility to adjust to changing project requirements.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant engineering software, tools, and technologies. Strong knowledge of engineering principles, codes, and standards. Familiarity with project management methodologies.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and coordinating with various stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in project planning, documentation, and execution.
  • Professionalism: A high level of professionalism and ethical conduct. Adherence to safety protocols and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
