Job Summary:

The Design Engineer is responsible for managing multiple client projects from initial engineering/design through shipment.

Key Responsibilities:

This position is also responsible for product design and development responsibility for control circuits of switch mode, SCR, and Ferroresonant power sources ranging from 5kW to 300kW, and be the key contributor in the process of moving these designs from concept to production.  Duties will include design review of incoming engineering documents, design layout via AutoCAD, creation of bills of material and project coordination with the manufacturing and test groups.

Directly interface with our client’s engineering and sales groups to help facilitate product solutions. Design of analog and digital control circuits

• Management of assigned projects from concept through shipment
• Analyze technical and customer requirements, create solutions and accomplish objectives in the most efficient and economical manner
• Communicate and cooperate effectively with sales, marketing, R & D, test, production departments and clients.

Minimum Qualifications:

The Design Engineer must have a proven track record of successful project management. Electrical design experience utilizing design software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks is also required.

Associates or Bachelor of Science degree in electrical or mechanical engineering and/or a minimum of 3-5 years in related industry/field experience is desired. Prior design experience utilizing AutoCAD, SolidWorks or design software is required.

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work:  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Kneeling:  Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

Crouching:  Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine

Reaching:  Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Standing:  Particularly for sustained periods of time

Walking:  Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.

Talking:  Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.  Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly

Hearing:  Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction.  Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discriminations in sound.

Additional Details:

This position is located in Columbus, Ohio.
