We are seeking a proven business leader to serve as DVP, Business Manager with full P&L responsibility for a $150M+ business serving critical infrastructure and industrial markets worldwide.

 

Reporting to the Division Vice President and Business Unit Manager, this leader will be responsible for driving profitable growth, operational excellence, innovation, and talent development across the organization. The successful candidate will bring a demonstrated track record of leading highly engineered businesses, building high-performing teams, and delivering sustainable results in electrical, power, industrial, automation, energy, or related markets.

 

Key Responsibilities

Business Leadership & P&L Management

  • Own and deliver results for orders, sales, operating income, cash flow, and working capital.
  • Develop and execute annual operating plans, forecasts, and long-range strategic plans.
  • Drive sustainable growth, profitability, and business performance through disciplined execution and fact-based decision-making.
  • Ensure effective capital allocation and prioritization of resources to maximize shareholder value.

Commercial Growth & Market Leadership

  • Develop and execute strategies that expand market share, strengthen customer relationships, and drive profitable growth.
  • Partner with commercial and product management teams to identify growth opportunities, increase market penetration, and expand customer engagement.
  • Support strategic customer relationships and key commercial initiatives.
  • Identify adjacent market opportunities, new applications, and growth investments that strengthen the competitive position of the business.

Product Management & Innovation

  • Lead portfolio strategy and investment priorities to align with customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Drive product vitality, new product development, and lifecycle management initiatives.
  • Ensure effective collaboration among product management, engineering, operations, and commercial teams to deliver profitable growth.

Operational Excellence

  • Partner closely with operations leadership to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory management, and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing AMETEK Business System principles and Lean methodologies.
  • Ensure operational capabilities support growth objectives, customer requirements, and long-term business strategy.
  • Oversee capital investment planning and execution.

Talent & Organizational Leadership

  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing leadership team.
  • Drive accountability, engagement, and a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Develop succession plans and leadership pipelines to support long-term organizational growth.
  • Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture that values collaboration, innovation, and results.

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead development and execution of long-term business strategies and growth initiatives.
  • Establish and execute a business-wide AI and digital transformation roadmap that enhances innovation, improves decision-making, increases organizational productivity, and supports long-term growth objectives.
  • Evaluate strategic investments, partnerships, acquisitions, and integration opportunities.
  • Prepare and present business reviews, operating plans, forecasts, and strategic initiatives to divisional and executive leadership.
  • Represent the business in division and enterprise-wide initiatives.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience within industrial manufacturing, electrical systems, power systems, industrial technology, automation, energy, infrastructure, or related markets; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading a business, product line, operating unit, or major functional organization with responsibility for growth, profitability, and operational performance.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with experience utilizing data, financial metrics, and market insights to drive business decisions.
  • Experience developing and executing strategies that deliver sustainable growth and operational improvements.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams across multiple functions.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and executive presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, digital technologies, and/or data-driven strategies to improve business performance, accelerate innovation, enhance customer engagement, or drive commercial growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA or other advanced business degree.
  • Experience with highly engineered electrical, electronic, power quality, power conversion, or critical infrastructure solutions.
  • Established relationships within EPC, utility, power generation, data center, energy transition, industrial automation, or critical infrastructure markets.
  • Experience serving customers in power generation, utilities, transmission and distribution, energy, data center, industrial, process, infrastructure, or mission-critical markets.
  • Experience managing a business with responsibility across commercial, operational, engineering, and product management functions.
  • Experience leading product portfolio strategy, new product development, and innovation initiatives.
  • Experience evaluating acquisitions, leading integrations, or driving significant business transformation initiatives.
  • Experience utilizing AI to improve new product development, product lifecycle management, commercial effectiveness, customer insights, and operational decision-making.
  • Experience leveraging Lean, continuous improvement, or business system methodologies to improve business performance.
  • Experience utilizing digital technologies, data analytics, and AI-enabled tools to improve decision-making and business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing future business leaders and building organizational capability.
