As an Applications Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a team that delivers power continuity solutions for critical industries. Your expertise will shape proposals, guide technical decisions, and ensure customers receive solutions that keep the world running.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Leadership & Strategy

  • Set team and individual goals aligned with business objectives.
  • Drive quoting and costing strategies, leveraging AI and advanced tools for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance speed and precision.

Client & Sales Support

  • Partner with sales teams and clients during pre-sale activities.
  • Develop formal proposals that highlight technical compliance and customer benefits.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and operations to ensure seamless project execution.

Technical Expertise

  • Provide deep product and application knowledge to internal teams and customers.
  • Review designs for compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D and design engineering to resolve technical challenges.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required: Electrical Engineering degree (ABET accredited).
  • Preferred: MBA and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 5+ years in applications engineering for 3-phase industrial equipment, ideally with industrial UPS products.
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to communicate effectively with executives, clients, and teams.
  • Strong project management, strategic thinking, and collaboration skills.

 

Bonus Points For:

  • Knowledge of industrial batteries, rectifiers, inverters, and voltage regulators.
  • Familiarity with NEC, UL, and other electrical codes.
  • Experience with EPC projects and contract review.

This position is located in Columbus, Ohio. Columbus will keep you entertained all year.  During the warmer months, Columbus hosts food and music festivals, organizes art walks, and provides plenty of beautiful spots for hiking and biking.  During the colder months, Columbus offers ice skating, sledding, and holiday markets and festivals.  All year long, one can visit museums such as COSI Columbus (which was voted the best science museum in the US in 2020, 2021, and 2022!), check out art galleries, walk around the zoo, patron the North Market (a public market that has been around for 145 years), and spend time at the many local parks.

Compensation

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $125,000
Salary Maximum:  $155,000
Incentive:  No
