About the Role: The Director, Operations is the senior site leader with full accountability for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people performance. This role owns execution of the site operating plan and budget, leads the daily and monthly operating cadence, and drives continuous improvement to deliver sustained operational and financial performance.
The role requires a proven manufacturing leader who brings strong technical and operational credibility and a track record of delivering results in a performance‑driven environment. The Director, Operations will have demonstrated success leading complex, engineered operations and driving disciplined execution. This is a high‑impact site leadership role with regular visibility to Business Unit and Division leadership
How You Will Make an Impact:
Own the plant
- Deliver consistent results across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people through disciplined execution of the operating plan.
Lead with rigor and cadence
- Establish daily, weekly, and monthly operating rhythms that drive accountability, transparency, and timely problem resolution.
Drive operational excellence
- Lead continuous improvement efforts that improve productivity, reduce waste, and strengthen process capability.
- Ensure improvements are sustained, not just implemented.
Deliver financial commitments
- Control costs, improve labor productivity, and manage working capital while meeting budget and forecast commitments.
- Balance near‑term execution with longer‑term capability and growth
Set the standard for safety and quality
- Make safety and quality non‑negotiable.
- Reinforce standards, ensure compliance, and lead effective corrective and preventive actions when issues occur.
Build a high‑performing leadership team
- Develop managers, strengthen bench depth, and create a culture of ownership and accountability.
Strengthen customer confidence
- Deliver reliable execution, meeting commitments, and leading recovery actions when performance gaps arise.
Partner across the Business Unit
- Work closely with BU leadership on strategy, capital investments, and sharing best practices.
- Represent the site effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Occasional lifting of lightweight materials, (up to 25 lbs.) Some pushing & pulling and reaching, continuous sitting, frequent standing and walking. Continuous use of computer, keyboard and mouse. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, composite toed shoes, and hearing protection. Must be able to walk up to 25% of the time on a manufacturing environment around heavy equipment.
What You Will Bring to the Role:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, or a related field
- MBA or Master’s degree preferred
Experience & Leadership Profile
- At least 10-12 years of progressive leadership experience
- Prior manufacturing experience required with experience in metals strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success leading complex operations and delivering results
- Strong strategic thinking paired with the ability to execute through metrics and follow‑through
- Solid financial acumen and experience operating in a public company environment
- A leader who is hands‑on, decisive, and comfortable being held accountable for outcomes
- Microsoft office suite experience.
