JOB SUMMARY

The Instrumentation Technologist I is responsible for testing, calibrating, repairing manufacturing equipment and monitoring devices. In addition, the Instrumentation Technologist also performs preventative maintenance of the equipment while recording data.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Perform primary duties involving the calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of Western Research products using production plans, wiring diagrams, flow diagrams, drawings, and technical manuals. These products encompass a range including analyzers, printed circuit boards, shelters, rack-mount systems, and various mechanical, optical, or electronic sub-assemblies, sourced both internally and externally.

- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and promptly report any unsafe conditions.

- Maintain responsibility for the quality of finished products, including accurate record-keeping and reporting of any issues affecting quality.

- Actively participate in AMETEK's Continual Improvement Program by proposing and implementing process enhancements.

 - Collaborates effectively within team environments, fostering cooperative relationships.

- Comply with all internal policies and procedures established by AMETEK.

- Manage task timelines effectively, ensuring all assignments are completed within specified deadlines.

- Assist in conducting project-based customer inspections of AMETEK products.

- Maintain meticulous production records, checklists, and work instructions as required.

- Offer technical guidance and recommendations to other departments as needed.

- Demonstrate proficiency in handling hazardous gases and utilize appropriate protective equipment such as SABA and SCBA.

- Fulfill any additional responsibilities as dictated by business needs.

 

EXPERIENCE & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

 Certificate in Electronics, Instrumentation or equivalent OR high school graduate with 2 years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and related experience.
