SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Assembler I builds electromechanical products and troubleshoots and tests assembly functions on sub-assemblies, optical assemblies, and final assemblies according to company workmanship standards and specifications. 

 

The position requires competence in reading and interpreting wiring lists, PID drawings, assembly drawings and work orders using visual aids, and schematic diagrams. The individual must possess good manual dexterity and have the ability to use a wide variety of power tools. Attention to detail for completion of appropriate documentation related to product is key. Must be able to work within a team environment and individually with minimal supervision.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-Builds electromechanical products according to production plans, wiring diagrams, blueprints, flow diagrams, and other instructions, covering a range of items such as analyzers, printed circuit boards, shelters, rack mount systems, and various mechanical, optical, or electronic sub-assemblies.

- Consistently maintains high quality standards even under tight deadlines; strives for accuracy on the first attempt.

- Demonstrates proficient manual dexterity to safely and effectively operate a variety of hand and power tools.

- Capable of comprehending and interpreting drawings, diagrams, and schematics, including wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and flow diagrams.

- Follows written instructions with meticulous attention to detail.

-Conducts in-process testing of products as per assembly work instructions and checklists.

-Records and maintains production records, checklists, and work instructions accurately.

-Manages inventory and procurement of floor supplies as needed.

-Maintains cleanliness and organization of personal work areas and the general shop environment.

-Ensures upkeep of shop tasks including tool maintenance, chemical disposal, solvent cleanliness, and shop safety protocols.

- Works effectively within a team environment, sharing credit with colleagues and fostering a positive group dynamic.

- Safely lifts and handles heavy loads using equipment such as a pallet jack.

-Actively contributes to AMETEK’s Continual Improvement Program.

-Performs related duties as assigned to support operational needs.

 

EXPERIENCE & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of high school with one year of relevant work experience, or an equivalent blend of education and practical experience is required.
