Job Title:  Staff Accountant

SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing and coordinating daily accounting functions for AMETEK Chandler transactions at the Broken Arrow, OK location.  This includes calculating and posting financial journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and internal controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare month-end journal entries and monthly balance sheet account reconciliations of key accounts (Accounts Payable, Intercompany, Prepaid, and Accrued Liabilities).  

• Process daily customer invoicing, ensuring compliance to Company’s Revenue Recognition Policies (ASC606).

• Process invoices on customer portals, and daily cash collections to ensure the timely receipt of receivables and resolve invoice discrepancies.

• Process vendor invoices and credit memos including 3-way matching and manually coded overhead invoices.  Respond to vendor requests and resolve invoice discrepancies.

• Initiate check runs, wire payments, and reconcile cash disbursements with corporate.

• Reconcile and confirm intercompany account balances.

• Prepare monthly sales tax reporting and reconciliation.

• Prepare documentation for quarterly SOX audits.

• Other duties as assigned. 

• Travel requirements – up to 5% for training purposes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

• At least 3 years of related accounting experience

• Proficiency using ERP and Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate Excel skills, required).

• Knowledge of GAAP and SOX controls.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of staff.

• Ability to manage time, prioritize and shift focus to meet changing business demands.

• Ability to work independently under pressure, multi-task and adhere to strict deadlines.

• Ability to work extended hours, especially during month-end, quarter-end and year-end for closing purposes. 

• Demonstrates commitment to achieving both personal & company goals / objectives.
