Job Description: 

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will contribute and build your technical expertise in a variety of business applications. You will help design and build innovative technologies to solve some of the world’s greatest challenges in attaining energy security while decarbonizing the environment and learn from some of the best Engineering leaders in the business. Throughout your internship, you’ll collaborate with team members to solve real world business problems.

 

Developmental Work Assignments:

  • Assisting with the Research and Development (R&D) Lab reorganization.

  • Assisting with universal electronics box design and documentation for a family of instruments.

  • Updating Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VA/VE) tracking.

  • Assisting with repair of in-house R&D laboratory instruments.

  • Assisting with the conversion of industry standard software written in Visual C++ (Microsoft Foundation Class in Visual Studio 2017) to Flutter.

  • Assisting with firmware development on Microchip PIC32 microprocessor.

  • Contributing to the creation of documentation packages for custom projects, as needed.

  • Other tasks as assigned.

 

Requirements: ​ 

  • Must be currently pursuing degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or similar. 

  • Exposure to or experience with C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio and/or Flutter/Dart in Microsoft Visual Studio Code, preferred.

  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

  • Capable of lifting and carrying 25lbs.

  • Exposure to or experience with MPLAB X IDE by Microchip, preferred.

 

Relevant Coursework:

  • Calculus I and/or II

  • Introductions to Computer Organization and Microprocessors

  • C Language

  • C++ Programming Language

  • Engineering Design with Computer Aided Design

  • Computer Tools for Electrical and Computer Engineers  

  • Embedded Systems in C

  • Microprocessors in Digital Design, preferred.
