Job Description: 

SUMMARY:

Develop mechanical designs and hardware solutions for RF products and assemblies.  Conduct research and modeling of thermal and cooling designs, as related to electronics enclosures and heatsinking.  Provide mechanical design for interconnects, EMI shielding, IP sealing and gasketing.  Lead the development and strategies for mechanical designs of new and existing products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following: 

  1. Lead Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) of product configuration, assembly guides, exploded views, BoM, and part fabrication.
  2. Responsible for the entire mechanical packaging of products.
  3. Design to meet MIL-SPEC and IP standards.
  4. Use SolidWorks design for new and existing product components and assemblies. 
  5. Design SME on custom parts and mechanical assemblies.
  6. Provide Manufacturing support for ECO/ECRs, Deviations, and Revisions.
  7. Work with product engineers and other engineering staff to develop features and solutions for new product development, as relevant to the mechanical design.
  8. Formulate and design experiments and research into thermal cooling of RF amplifiers.
  9. Prototype parts using 3D printing and other fabrication methods.
  10. Employ DFx (design for manufacturing, design for test, etc.) techniques in the design for amplifier products.
  11. Identify fastener and connector identification.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from four-year college and 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in SolidWorks mechanical design required.

Salary Minimum:  $100,000
Salary Maximum:  $130,000
