Job Description:
Reporting to the Business Unit Leader, the Vice President, Finance / Business Unit Controller is responsible for all accounting activities and global financial operations within the Dunkermotoren business unit. They will be a strategic business partner to the business unit leadership team by accurately measuring and forecasting operating performance related to KPIs and making recommendations for improvements.
What you will do:
- Directly and indirectly manage a team of global finance professionals within a matrix environment
- Maintain effective internal control of all business unit operations and global locations to ensure continued protection of its assets and accurate reporting of its financial position
- Provide management with monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews of the organization’s financial status and progress in its various programs and activities in accordance with the Corporation's reporting formats and requirements
- Drive year-over-year improvements with working capital, sales, operating profits, and overall performance; Partner with sales and operations management to manage working capital by balancing inventory, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Forecast Business Unit business activity and financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations in accordance with the Corporation’s reporting formats and requirements
- Direct preparation of budgets by reviewing budget proposals; prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification
- Arrange audits of business unit financials, as well as internal and external audit requirements and US Sarbanes Oxley-404 (SOX) testing and compliance
- Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the function and the broader business unit
- Effectively communicate with leadership to provide a transparent perspective on financial performance while providing solutions, as necessary. In addition present to senior management & CEO several times per year
- Lead and direct Plant BU Controllers with financial strategies, reporting, and forecasting, and assist with driving financial results within the BU; Provide and direct procedures necessary to maintain proper records, afford adequate accounting controls and services, and meet various deadlines
- Perform due diligence on potential acquisition targets. Develops models, business forecasts, and trend analysis to support these opportunities, as needed
- Represent the company externally, as necessary, to government agencies and auditors
- Recruit, train, supervise, and develop department staff and conduct annual performance evaluations
We are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in related field required, Master's degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10+ years in a related leadership role within manunfacturing environments
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required
- Strong PC and business systems knowlege; advanced Excel skills highly preferred
- Excellent working knowledge of accounting and finance principles
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and integrity
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 10-15%
