Job Title: Sales Engineer, UK and Ireland

POSITION SUMMARY:
AMETEK STC and ATLAS are looking for a UK Sales Engineer, to join our team in the UK. This position will provide the territory and account responsibilities required to plan, manage, supervise, and coordinate the activities related to the sale and promotion of products and services of the business. This includes identifying new business opportunities and developing the customer base, contributing to the development of new market strategies, maintaining existing accounts, increasing order intake, enhancing associated margins, and advising and guiding the business using the most effective use of resources to meet the territory’s growth goals. Account management capability and a hunter’s ability to win new business is necessary for success.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Achieve territory portion of Worldwide Sales Budget for the Business Units.
- Lead generation
- Developing long term relationships with clients
- Persuading customers that our products best fit their needs using dollarization techniques
- Negotiating tender and contract terms
- Pre-sale application support and quotations
- After sales support and training
- Presentations, road shows and exhibition support
- Weekly reporting and forecasting
- Maintaining CRM data
- Marketing support and feeding back VOC information
- Market intelligence for competition, trends and new expectations; shares relevant information within organization
- Working with Product Managers to support strategic activities and development of new products, services, enhancements, etc.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- A candidate with an appropriate qualification in a science or engineering-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a sales engineer position.
- Driven and flexible individual who wants to learn and grow professionally.
- Must be able to work well within a team or independently and demonstrate initiative to drive results.
- Technical understanding and experience with quality control or industry is desired; Pharma, medical devices, plastics, packaging, automotive.
- Specific experience in the material testing industry
- Experience with equipment application software and integration desired
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, SalesForce(CRM) or similar software.
- Must be able to travel domestically; frequent overnight stays as the needs of the customers in the territory dictate; Expected travel requirement will be about 50%.
